Course Description
This webinar is suitable both for new starters as well as for any freelancers who are already running businesses but who need help and support to draft effective terms and conditions, tackle late and non–paying clients and lots of other thorny issues that we have to deal with on a daily basis as business owners.
It includes:
- Negotiating terms and conditions with clients – learn the art of negotiation and how to develop your own sets of precedent terms and conditions
- Running businesses not charities – learn how to get (well) paid and how to get paid on time in today’s challenging economic climate.
Completion of this course will give you a minimum of 2 hours' structured CPD points. You will also be provided with a number of resources for you to gain further unstructured CPD points.

Sue is both a qualified legal and commercial French interpreter and translator and a non-practising solicitor. Sue lectures both nationally and internationally and her audiences include both spoken and sign language interpreters.Sue sits on ITI's Professional Conduct Committee as well as that of NRPSI. She is a member of The Association of Police and Court Interpreters' Committee and of North West Chartered Institute of Linguist's Committee and is a Visiting Lecturer for City University's (London) MA Legal Translation course. Sue says:"I have been a full time self employed legal and commercial French interpreter and translator since 2002 and interpret mainly for the public services and also at business meetings.I would really like to build some bridges in terms of sharing training between spoken and sign language interpreters.
