Course Description

As interpreters we may come across Deaf people with dementia when interpreting in the community. This presents unique challenges not only for our language interpretation, but for how we manage the interaction in order to meet our clients’ needs.

This webinar will enhance your knowledge around dementia as a condition and how this may specifically impact Deaf people with dementia and their families. You will consider the implications for your practice as BSL interpreters whilst working within this specialist domain and reflect on your experience and skills in working with everyone involved in the care pathway.

You will consider strategies which you can employ to enhance communication with patients with dementia.

This training is delivered in BSL.
