Course Description

This workshop presents the first published research examining interpreting from International Sign to spoken English.  

This webinar will be of interest to sign language interpreters (including BSL and ASL) looking to enhance their spoken English, whether they use international sign language or not

All of the strategies identified are techniques that many sign language interpreters do or could use in their everyday work


Completion of this course will give you a minimum of 2 hours' structured CPD points. You will also be provided with a number of resources for you to gain further unstructured CPD points.

Brett Best

Brett Best is a UK-based, fully qualified American Sign Language (ASL), British Sign Language (BSL) and English interpreter. She holds a BA degree in Deaf Studies from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., an MSc in European Masters in Sign Language Interpreting (EUMASLI) from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, and she is currently studying toward a Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education through University of Wisconsin-Milwuakee. Her current research interests include the professionalisation processes of sign language interpreting and how technology is impacting the interpreting profession.
